1. Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This iOS application (“Minimalist Notes Journal”) stores all notes and reminders locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. All data remains private and fully under your control.

1.1. What we do not do

• No account registration or login

• No tracking, analytics, or profiling

1.2. Information we process locally

To provide core app functionality, the following data is processed only on your device:

Notes

• Notes you create, edit, view, or delete

• Local formatting, metadata, and settings

• AI-generated suggestions (with your permission)

1.3. Reminders

• Reminder content

• Reminder schedule time and date

• Local notifications to alert you at the chosen time

This information is never uploaded or transmitted outside your device unless you explicitly export it.

1.4. AI Writing Assistance

The app offers optional AI features such as rewriting, summarizing, or generating suggestions.

How AI works

• AI processing is triggered only when you tap to use it.

• Your selected text is sent securely to an AI model provider (Google Gemini).

• We do not store your note content or AI inputs/outputs on any server.

• The AI provider does not store or use your data for model training (per provider policies).

Important

• Only the text you manually choose to process with AI is sent.

• No background processing, no automatic scanning of notes.

• If you do not use AI features, no data ever leaves your device.

1.5. Local notifications (Reminder feature)

The app may request permission to send local notifications for reminders you set.

• Notification data stays completely on the device

• No reminder information is sent to any server

• Notifications are used solely to alert you at the scheduled time

You may enable or disable notification permissions at any time in your iOS Settings.

1.6. Data storage and backups

• All notes and reminders are saved locally on your iPhone.

• If you enable iCloud device backups, your data may be included in your personal iCloud backup (controlled by Apple, not by us).

• If you uninstall the app or lose your device, we cannot recover your data.

You are responsible for backing up your notes and reminders using your device’s backup methods.

1.7. Permissions

The app may ask for these permissions (optional):

• Notifications – To deliver reminder alerts you scheduled.

• File access (if exporting) – Only when you choose to export notes manually.

• Internet access – only when you use the AI feature

We do not use these permissions to collect any data.

1.8. Security

We design the app to keep your information private and on-device. However, mobile devices are not perfectly secure.For best protection:

• Use a device passcode

• Enable system encryption

• Keep iOS updated

1.9. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. Because the app stores data only on your device and does not transmit information externally, there is no server-stored data to delete.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

2. Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of this iOS application (“Minimalist Notes Journal”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may create notes, set reminders, and use the features offered by the app so long as you comply with these Terms.

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any illegal activity

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute the app

• Use the app in a way that risks harm, misuse, or data loss

2.2. User Data and Storage

All notes, reminders, and settings are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for managing, backing up, and safeguarding your data through your own device or iCloud backups.

If you uninstall the app or lose your device, we cannot restore your data.

2.3. AI Writing Assistance

AI features are optional and user-initiated.

By using AI features, you understand that:

• Only the text you select is processed

• Your data is transmitted securely to an AI provider

• The provider does not store or use your content for training

• We do not collect, store, or access your AI-related data

If you do not use AI features, no data is transmitted externally.

2.4. Local Notifications (Reminders)

The app may ask for permission to send local notifications so that reminders can alert you at the chosen time. Notification data stays on your device and is not transmitted externally.

You may enable or disable notifications through your iOS Settings.

2.5. No Warranties

The app is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, including but not limited to:

• reliability

• availability

• accuracy

• fitness for a particular purpose

We do not guarantee that the app will function without interruption, errors, or data loss.

2.6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any:

• device issues

• missed reminders

• indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app
